Rosemary

Rosemary is well-known for its culinary use and the herbaceous flavor it imparts.  Its Latin genus, Rosmarinus, means “dew of the sea” because of its natural habitat near the Mediterranean Sea.  The herb has a warm, refreshing, camphor-like aroma with woodsy-balsamic undertones.  For centuries, rosemary leaves were burned to purify the air and were used medicinally to offer respiratory support and promote increased circulation to tired muscles.  Rosemary can be used to help boost mental focus and acuity, and offers several skin and hair care benefits.

•   Diffuse rosemary during illness for immune support.
•   Inhale rosemary for respiratory support.
•   Add a few drops of rosemary to maintain a healthy scalp and radiant hair.
•   Use in a massage blend to increase circulation and provide warmth to tired muscles.
•   Dilute rosemary in a carrier oil of 2-4% for topical application.
•   Avoid rosemary during pregnancy, if hypertensive or epileptic.

Dilute essential oils appropriately in a carrier oil before topical application.  May cause skin irritation. Patch test a small skin area with diluted oil prior to use.  Avoid eye and mucous membrane contact.  External use only. Basic Earth Essentials does not recommend that essential oils be taken internally unless you are working with a qualified health practitioner trained in the use of Clinical Essential Oil Therapy. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
